A custom approach develops products and solutions beyond standard collections to functionally meet the needs of the global contract segment.
Villa del Conte, February 13, 2025
With the beginning of 2025, LAGO, an excellence in Italian design and furniture, continues its growth in the contract sector with the launch of LAGO Project, a business unit entirely dedicated to the contract segment. This new unit marks a strategic step towards strengthening contract projects, enhancing service, and ensuring a tailor-made customization and design system, providing bespoke solutions tailored to the specific needs of different types of projects, such as residential, hospitality, and shared spaces.
The forecasts for 2025 are clear: the estimated growth exceeds 50% more turnover in contract projects compared to 2024, consolidating the 45% increase already recorded in the past year (2024 vs 2023). To date, the contract sector represents 10% of the company's total value, a figure that shows double-digit growth compared to the previous year, with an exponential growth forecast both in Italy and abroad. This result underscores LAGO’s strong positioning as a key partner for major investors and operators in this market segment.
"The contract sector represents a natural extension of our activity, combining the ability to innovate with an increasingly personalized approach to meet the specific needs of the international market," said Gilberto Negrini, CEO of LAGO. "With LAGO Project, we aim to consolidate our global presence by offering solutions that integrate creative design, efficiency, and the artisanal mastery of Made in Italy. This business unit marks an evolution towards an innovative project model: not just products, but real tailor-made experiences, designed for the contemporary contract sector and created to successfully tackle complex projects of any scale, ensuring reliable and high-quality solutions. Our strength lies not only in listening carefully to our partners’ requests and transforming their visions into tangible and scalable projects but also in the richness of our catalog. With our collection, we are able to cover all areas of the home – from kitchens to upholstered furniture, from wardrobes to bathrooms – alongside a highly customizable offering. This dedicated business unit is structured as a highly specialized team, capable of responding with flexibility and expertise to the most specific needs, turning every idea into a unique, sustainable, and economically valuable design solution."
LAGO Project launches with a portfolio of prestigious international collaborations, including the Rose Brooklyn project in the United States and a significant investment in the build-to-rent segment in Milan. In recent months, LAGO has curated the interiors of a prestigious hotel in Malta, furnished an entire residential building just steps from Manhattan, developed a new build-to-rent project in Milan, and contributed to the design of a luxury resort in Zanzibar.
Among its various collaborations is also QC SPA Of Wonders, a renowned name in wellness and hospitality, which has chosen LAGO Project for its expansion plans. One of the upcoming openings is the QC Room Milano Porta Romana, a facility with 86 rooms furnished by LAGO, where the company has also designed part of the hotel’s common areas.
With LAGO Project, LAGO not only introduces a new business unit but also inaugurates a vision of integrated and dynamic project design, blending design, sustainability, and the ability to interpret new trends in contemporary living. A new chapter that redefines the very concept of contract design, bringing the excellence of Made in Italy design to an international scale.
