In addition to the collaboration with Forcellini for LAGO Osteria, the "PlusAdvance" Dynamic Discounting project ensures early payments to suppliers, involving over one hundred companies in the production supply chain.

Villa del Conte (PD), February 8, 2024

LAGO's strong connection with the local community in the Padua area, as well as its commitment to inclusion and sustainability, is further reinforced through two new initiatives. As 2024 begins, LAGO announces the launch of LAGO Osteria, a restaurant within LAGO Campus, in collaboration with Forcellini Ristorazione, a social catering company that, in addition to offering high-quality services, promotes the professional integration of workers facing employment challenges. LAGO strongly pursued the continuation of its collaboration with the Work Crossing social cooperative, which, along with Forcellini Ristorazione, also operates Pasticceria Giotto—the renowned pastry laboratory located within Padua’s Due Palazzi prison, where nearly 50 inmates work alongside master pastry chefs from the cooperative. For the future, LAGO Osteria aims to become more than just a corporate restaurant for employees—it envisions itself as a welcoming space open to external guests, reinforcing a culture of hospitality that fosters empathy and relationships.

Strengthening Community Engagement

In 2023, LAGO continued its collaboration with Cucine Economiche Popolari di Padova, where groups of employees volunteered at the facility. During Christmas, essential goods were collected and donated to its guests. During the holiday season, LAGO also launched a partnership with QUID, a social enterprise that promotes diversity and labor integration, particularly for women, offering them stable employment and professional training opportunities.

Supporting the Supply Chain with "Pagamenti Sprint"

With the start of the new year, LAGO is also continuing its "Pagamenti Sprint" initiative to support its supply chain, in partnership with PlusAdvance through its dedicated platform. The dynamic discounting initiative proved highly successful in 2023, with over 50% of LAGO’s suppliers participating. The company has decided to maintain the cash flow mechanism, which, within the framework of supply chain finance, allows suppliers—on a voluntary basis and depending on their cash flow needs—to manage due payments dynamically. The main benefit for suppliers is the ability to receive early payment on their invoices based on their specific needs, without relying on traditional banking or financial institutions, leading to advantages in costs and processing speed. By advancing liquidity to suppliers, LAGO also reinforces its commitment to sustainability by settling invoices early in exchange for a small discount, thereby strengthening its supply chain and consolidating existing relationships.

A Vision of Community and Sustainable Business

"At LAGO, we have believed in the value of community and local engagement long before external complexities pushed businesses toward similar questions," commented Daniele Lago, CEO & Head of Design of LAGO Spa. "As early as the first years of the new millennium, we felt an urgent need to deeply connect with people, striving to build a new concept of humanism within the world of design. The document ‘La Grande Idea’ was meant to encapsulate this vision. It is a source of great pride to see that, years later, the meaning and vision behind that idea remain as relevant as ever.”
